Xiaomi is gearing to update as many as 28 of its devices to MIUI 11. MIUI is the Android-based software that runs on all Xiaomi devices except its Android One phones like the Mi A3. Xiaomi has announced that it will roll out the MIUI 11 update in a phased manner beginning October end – from October 22 to be precise. The roll out process will continue all the way until December end, updating 28 Xiaomi devices with the latest and greatest of software that the company has to offer.

It’s a little surprising that the Redmi Note 8 Pro isn’t launching with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. In fact, according to Xiaomi’s calendar, it will be the last phone to get the MIUI 11 update. Further, just because Xiaomi is updating these phones to MIUI doesn’t necessarily mean that all these devices will be updated to Android 10. We will have to wait and watch out on that one.

Xiaomi says that the MIUI 11 update “significantly upgrades the design element and brings a new set of refined features with a visually enhanced interface with Dark Mode,” plus it brings “new customizations to the popular Always-on display” in compatible phones. The MIUI 11 update will also bring new dynamic ambient nature sounds for notifications plus a new Mint Keyboard with support for over 25 Indian languages.
