Xiaomi opens 2,000th service center in Delhi, gets ISO-certified for after sales

Xiaomi opened its 2,000th Authorized Service Center (ASC) in Delhi on Friday. Xiaomi also announced that it had become the “first industry brand” to be certified under ISO 9001 and 14001 for its after-sales quality management systems. Xiaomi claims it has service centers spread across over 680 cities in India now.

And this has also led us to achieve the renowned ISO certification, both 9001 as well as 14001, which further strengthens our position and commitment towards delivering top-notch service quality in years to come” Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operations Officer, Xiaomi India said in a press statement. 

Xiaomi has witnessed a meteoric rise in India. After having started as an online-only brand selling only smartphones, Xiaomi sells almost everything under the sun now – not to mention, it has grown phenomenally in the offline segment as well. Xiaomi has been aggressively building its offline sales business since 2017. Building up after-sales is also part of that journey – Xiaomi says it is successfully covering over 90 per cent of the districts nationwide now with regards to service centers. Moreover, the company says that it has been able to resolve 96 per cent of cases within 4 hours and an average of 93 per cent of cases in just 2 hours. 

Data released by Red Quanta on after sales service quality for Q1 2019 suggests Xiaomi was the top smartphone brand in terms of providing after sales service for three quarters in a row.
