The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro that offers its users a 48MP rear camera, and still relatively affordably priced at Rs 14000, was finally launched on February 28. The notable aspect with this launch is the fact that it comes at a time when brands like Realme, Oppo, Vivo, and even Samsung have seemingly upped their games with respect to offering value for money phones at comparatively lower prices. The key technical specifications of these handsets are their USPs - similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro. Hence, the latter could come under competition from existing as well as new smartphones by the former brands - making it a potential “Made in India smartphones war.”

Hence, with competition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (keeping its 48MP rear camera aside) being the focal point, check out below certain smartphones that could potentially offer the smartphone pure competition in the Indian smartphones segment:

  • Oppo A7: The Oppo A7, released during November 2018, offers a 6.2-inch display, a 13 MP + 2 MP rear cameras in tandem with a 16 MP front camera. The A7 is priced at Rs 14000 based on its RAM. The battery within the Oppo A7 is a fixed 4230 mAh Lithium-Ion unit. Oppo’s A7 is driven by a 1.8 GHz Cortex octa-core processor. Now, the Redmi Note 7 could potentially get competition with respect to both technical specifications as well as pricing. The actual soft performance of both these phones does deserve a real-world test and evaluation.

  • Samsung Galaxy A30: Samsung’s Galaxy A30, launched almost at the same time as that of the Redmi Note 7 Pro, features a larger 6.4-inch AMOLED + Infinity U display and one of its USPs is the Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system straight out of the box. Unlike the Redmi Note 7  Pro, the Galaxy A30 comes with a dual 16MP + 5MP cameras, along with 16MP front camera. For processing, there is the octa-core Samsung Exynos 7904 SoC powered by a fixed 4000 mAh battery. The Galaxy A30 is priced at Rs 17000 in India. Now, these technical specifications could theoretically pose competition to the Redmi Note 7.

  • Samsung Galaxy M30: Like the Galaxy A30, Samsung Galaxy M30 was also launched very recently; USP of this phone is its triple rear camera assembly comprising of a 13 MP + 5 MP + 5 MP setup; with a 16 MP front snapper at the front. Also, the Galaxy M30 is powered by a 5000 mAh fixed battery. Like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Galaxy M30 runs Android Pie directly. Pricing of the Galaxy M30 starts from Rs 15000 in India.

  • Vivo Y93: Vivo Y93 features a 6.2-inch screen with resolutions of 1520 X 720 pixels; there is the Android 8.1 (Oreo) firmware, and a Snapdragon 439 octa-core SoC. The 3GB RAM edition of the Vivo Y93 starts from Rs 13000. Other specifications include the likes of a fixed 4030 mAh battery, and 13 MP + 2MP dual rear cameras and 8 MP front snapper.

  • Realme 2 Pro: The Realme 2 Pro which can be purchased only online is priced at Rs 12990. Key technical specifications of the handset include a 6.3 inch screen, Android 8.1 (Oreo) - Color OS 5.2 with eligibility for Android Pie OS update, USP of this handset is its Dewdrop full screen and 16 MP front camera.
