GPTs marketplace for GPT-4: OpenAI is set to roll out its dedicated marketplace next week for GPTs, applications crafted around its text-generation AI frameworks like GPT-4. According to media reports, developers who are keen on listing their GPTs in this marketplace dubbed the GPT Store, must adhere to OpenAI's revised usage policies and brand guidelines. Additionally, these developers need to authenticate their user profiles and ensure their GPTs are available to the public.
Initially announced during OpenAI's annual developer conference, DevDay, last year, the GPT Store faced delays, stemming from the major leadership changes at OpenAI in November. Following CEO Sam Altman's temporary exit and subsequent reinstatement with a revamped board, the project appears back on track.
What are GPTs?
GPTs empower developers, irrespective of their coding proficiency, to create applications ranging from straightforward to intricate. For instance, a GPT could be tailored to offer culinary insights based on a cookbook dataset or assist developers by analysing and generating code aligned with industry best practices.
While developers have been able to construct and distribute GPTs via the ChatGPT platform since DevDay, the upcoming GPT Store will provide a formal marketplace for these creations.

However, specifics regarding any revenue-sharing arrangements remain undisclosed. Earlier indications from Altman and CTO Mira Murati suggested an absence of a definitive monetisation strategy for GPTs, a sentiment echoed in recent communications from OpenAI. Further details on this aspect are anticipated in the coming week.
