Apple has released an awaited iOS 17.1 software update for iPhones in conjunction with the announcement of their 'Scary Fast' surprise Mac event scheduled for October 30. This update includes improvements for the Apple Watch as well. The watchOS 10.1 update introduces the Double Tap gesture for the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, for better user experience.
Furthermore, this update addresses a long-standing issue with the Weather app. Apple Watch users have been facing complications in the Weather app since the release of watchOS 10. These complications prevented the app from displaying data when set to the user's current location, as opposed to a specific city.
While Apple had previously provided some temporary workarounds for users, there wasn't a permanent solution until now. Following the rollout of watchOS 10.1, Apple has updated its support document to confirm that the bug affecting Weather app complications has been resolved.

Previously, Apple had advised users to manually select a city or disable Location Services for the Weather app to mitigate the issue. However, with the release of watchOS 10.1, Apple is urging users to install this update on their Apple Watch to permanently fix the problem. This update is available for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models.
