California’s Biggest Wildfire of 2025: Madre Fire Spreads Over 52,000 Acres

The Madre Fire has rapidly grown into California’s largest wildfire of the year, spreading swiftly overnight and scorching more than 52,000 acres. It tore through grasslands within a part of Los Padres National Park. The blaze intensified in central California’s wilderness as hot, dry conditions heightened fire danger across much of the state.
