Nahal brigade unit engages with Hamas militants

The Israeli army recently released footage of a Nahal brigade unit engaging Hamas militants in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the footage shows the Nahal brigade unit regaining control of outposts and continuing to eliminate terrorists in the area. The Associated Press, however, could not independently verify the authenticity of the footage.

The conflict, now in its 20th day, has become the deadliest of the five Gaza wars for both sides. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry reported that more than 7,000 Palestinians have been killed, which is more than three times the number of casualties in the six-week-long Gaza war in 2014. In the occupied West Bank, over 100 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids following a surprise Hamas attack on October 7 in southern Israel. The Associated Press couldn't independently verify the death tolls cited by Hamas, as they rely on figures from hospital directors.

Israeli officials claim that the fighting has killed more than 1,400 people in Israel, mostly civilians who died in the initial Hamas attack. The situation remains extremely complex and volatile, with no immediate resolution in sight.
