Typhoon Sanba brings heavy rainfall in southern China

Southern China's Guangxi province faced massive flooding as Typhoon Sanba brought heavy rainfall to the region. Over 4,300 people were sent to shelters. The typhoon came ashore at the coastal area of Dongfang City in south China’s Hainan Province on Thursday, according to the National Meteorological Center. It then spread to nearby provinces. Rescuers approached flooded areas in rubber boats and searched for stranded residents house by house. The Baisha River in south Guangxi province rose rapidly on Friday because of the heavy downpour, flooding nearby villages. Over 4,300 residents had been transferred to a temporary shelter in Baisha Town, another flooded village in the province. The typhoon came ashore at the coastal area of Dongfang City in south China’s Hainan Province.
