U.S. Sends Missiles to Taiwan, Japan, and Australia Amid China’s Naval Expansion

US is ramping up military support for its Pacific allies Australia, Japan, and Taiwan by providing advanced anti-ship missiles to counter China’s growing naval power. Australia has tested the AGM-158C LRASM and is acquiring SM-6 and Tomahawk cruise missiles to strengthen its long-range strike capabilities. Japan is set to purchase 400 Tomahawk missiles and upgrade its domestically developed Type 12 missiles, while Taiwan is expanding its stockpile of U.S.-made Harpoon missiles as concerns over a possible Chinese invasion rise. With China increasing its naval presence through aggressive patrols and military activities, the Indo-Pacific region faces heightened tensions, as Beijing warns against turning it into a "geopolitical battleground.
