Here’s Why These 7 MPs, Including Shashi Tharoor, Not Vote In Rare Lok Sabha Speaker Election

NDA and INDI were again at loggerheads after a furious parliamentary elections fight. The ruling NDA and Opposition battled it out for the Lok Sabha Speaker's post. The election was much already in favour of the ruling NDA as 7 INDI MPs were unable to vote. This ruled out the possibility of these MP elects from participating in the voting process. Among those awaiting oath are prominent figures like Shashi Tharoor, Shatrughan Sinha. SP’s Afzhal Ansari, TMC’s Deepak Adhikari, Nurul Islam & 2 Independents were among others. For the first time in Lok Sabha history, an election for the post of Speaker took place.
