Amit Shah Chairs J&K Security Review Meet Ahead of Amarnath Yatra, Calls Next Meeting on June 16
Back to back terror attacks have wreaked havoc in J&K. Security forces continued their hunt for the terrorists. Union HM Shah on June 14 held a J&K security review meeting. The meeting comes ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra. In the meeting the HM was briefed about the steps taken following the terror attacks. The next round of security meeting is expected to take place on June 16. The high-level meet will be in presence of NSA Ajit Doval and J&K LG Manoj Sinha. IB chief, Raw chief, DGs of Para forces and other top officials will be in attendance. Heightened vigilance is to ensure safety of J&K residents, Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. Terrorists attacked 4 places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda in 4 days. The attacks killed 9 pilgrims and a CRPF jawan. At least 7 security personnel were injured in the operation. PM Modi also chaired a high-level meet on June 13 to discuss J&K’s security situation. The meeting was aimed to assess the current security landscape in the region.
