A fire at the official residence of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Varma has sparked a major controversy after reports suggested the discovery of a massive pile of cash, estimated to be around ₹10 crore. The fire broke out at his residence, prompting his family to alert the fire brigade and police. Once the fire was extinguished, burnt currency notes were allegedly found among the remains. However, the Delhi fire department’s official report made no mention of any cash recovery, referring only to "stationary" items.
