Bihar Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, filed his nomination from Purnea as an independent candidate after being denied a ticket by Congress. The Purnea seat was allotted to INDI Alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the seat-sharting deal.
