Eden Gardens Curator Makes U-Turn on KKR Captain Ajinkya Rahane’s Spin Pitch Request

IPL 2025: The first big controversy of IPL 2025 didn’t happen on the field but was sparked by comments made off it by KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane had requested a more spin-friendly pitch at Eden Gardens, but curator Sujan Mukherjee initially shut down the idea. Now, Mukherjee has completely changed his stance, claiming he never refused KKR’s request and even suggesting he’s being framed. "I never denied anything to KKR. We've always had a good relationship. I prepared the pitch according to BCCI guidelines. The people accusing me have no idea what they're talking about," Mukherjee said.
