A goods train engine rammed into a CISF Bolero SUV at an unmanned railway crossing inside the Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant in Rajasthan. The incident occurred while CISF officers were patrolling the plant’s critical unit area. Fortunately, the occupants of the SUV managed to step out just in time, as captured by CCTV footage.
After the collision, a hooter was sounded in the station yard, prompting the dispatch of an accident relief train from Suratgarh Railway Station to provide assistance. The train involved in the incident was a coal-loaded goods train, heading towards the thermal plant.
Reports suggest that the CISF SUV was crossing the railway track when the accident occurred. The crossing was unmanned, and the SUV was hit by the engine of the approaching goods train, but no major injuries were reported due to the quick actions of the officers.
Thanks to the slow speed of the train and the driver’s timely applied the brakes, the engine came to a halt, preventing further damage and potential loss of life. The quick response from the CISF officers and railway authorities helped avert a more serious disaster.
