In response to the heavy rainfall forecast, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has ordered the closure of schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts on October 15.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall over the next four days, leading the government to activate emergency precautions.
Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force have been deployed in flood-prone areas.
The Government called for immediate deployment of rescue boats in vulnerable regions and instructed district monitoring officers to collaborate with local administrations for relief efforts.
