Chennai Night Sky Dazzles with Intense Lightning Strikes, Visuals Go Viral

Chennai: Tamil Nadu has been experiencing intense storms and heavy rainfall since yesterday, with the capital city, Chennai, witnessing stunning lightning strikes. 

Videos of lightning illuminating the night sky have gone viral, leaving residents both in awe and fear. 

A particular clip shows a lightning bolt striking a building.

Several users on social media platforms shared stunning footages of the sky turning a purple during the lightning strikes.

Chennai Rain Update: 

In response to the heavy rainfall forecast, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has ordered the closure of schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts on October 15. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall over the next four days, leading the government to activate emergency precautions.

Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force have been deployed in flood-prone areas.

The Government called for immediate deployment of rescue boats in vulnerable regions and instructed district monitoring officers to collaborate with local administrations for relief efforts.
