Nashik (Maharashtra): A gangster recently released from prison found himself back behind bars after a celebratory rally video went viral on social media.
Harshad Patankar, a notorious figure in Nasik, was released on July 23 after serving time under the stringent Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA).
The gangster was out on the streets of Nashik with about 15 two-wheelers and a few cars. The rally was allegedly held from the Bethel Nagar to Ambedkar Chowk.
In the viral video, Harshad Patankar is seen roaming on streets sitting on top of an SUV, with followers following him on his bike.
Harshad Patankar followers and friends also shared the reels of the rally on various social media platforms, celebrating his release from jail, which eventually landed him behind bars once again.
The sight, however, is common in India, where gangsters are often seen celebrating their jail releases like a victory with their supporters and followers, holding rallies with a fleet of cars and bikes on the streets.
