Kanpur Family Received ₹4 Lakh Electricity Bill for Cooler, Fridge and Fans

Kanpur/Viral News: Imagine using just a cooler, fridge, and a couple of fans, and then receiving an electricity bill that could power a small business. This is exactly what happened to a family in Kanpur recently.

A family in Kanpur city was shocked to receive a bill of a whopping ₹3.9 lakh (nearly ₹4 lakh). Now, that's a cause for concern, when considering their modest appliance usage. 

Kanpur Family Received 4 Lakh Electricity Bill 

Reports state that the family head, Chandrashekhar, hadn't received his electricity bill for several months. When he finally visited the local KESC office, he was left completely shocked to receive a bill amounting to nearly ₹4 lakh.

Thankfully, KESC officials assured Chandrashekhar that the inflated bill was an error. They attributed the mistake to a technical glitch with the server, causing some electricity meters to malfunction and register incorrect data.
