A swift action from a doctor at Terminal 2 of Delhi Airport saved the life of an elderly man who reportedly suffered a heart attack. The incident was recorded by a person who was standing there and quickly went viral after being posted on social media.
In the video, it can be seen that the doctor came to the rescue of the elderly man, who got unconscious and lost his pulse after suffering from a heart attack. The doctor, who was standing there, took action without losing a minute and performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on the elderly man until he got his pulse back.
The videos were shared by Rishi Bagree, and in the second, the elderly man who was down and fainted started gaining his pulses after the continuous pumps in his chest by the lady doctor. She also asked him to “take deep breaths." After all this, she asked the people around the place to ask for some help and call the airport staff. She was heard saying, “This is an emergency, please call someone,” in the video.
The heroic save of the doctor was praised all over social media and among the users, but the identity of the doctor is still unknown.
In another similar incident on July 2, on an Air India flight that was scheduled from Delhi to San Francisco, an elderly lady fell in and was throwing up again and again. Later, she was saved by the doctor on the flight with the help of her smartwatch.
The only doctor who was travelling on the flight was Dr Gigy V. Kuruttukulam, who was medical director at Kerala's Rajagiri Hospital. He presented his ID card to the officials on the flight and then examined the woman with the help of the Apple Smartwatch she was wearing. The doctor gets data on her heartbeat and oxygen saturation and performs an electrocardiogram test.
He found out that her oxygen saturation was low and she had high blood pressure, so he gave her the necessary injections available in the flight’s medical kit.
