Viral News: Did you know the iconic name "Mercedes-Benz" has a fascinating origin story?

Recently, Mercedes-Benz CEO Sten Ola Kallenius revealed the secret behind the brand's name in an interview. It's a tale of racing ambition, a lucky name, and a father's love for her daughter.

Originally founded in 1886 as Daimler, the company was revolutionising the automotive world. Fast forward to 15 years later, when Austrian industrialist Emil Jellinek approached Daimler and his chief engineer, Wilhelm Maybach, with a bold challenge, build a racing car that could win the Nice race in France.

The duo delivered, and Jellinek emerged victorious. But he had a condition, the car had to be named after his daughter, Mercedes. Daimler was moved by the name and decided to name the car 'Mercedes,' even though the company name remained Daimler.
