Vadodara: In a stunning incident, a man from Gujarat ’s Vadodara saved a snake’s life by performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

The man, identified as Yash Tadvi, a local wildlife rescuer, received a call on his helpline reporting a seemingly dead snake in the area.

Upon arriving at the location, Tadvi found a one-foot, non-venomous checkered keelback in an unconscious state and believed the snake could be revived using CPR.

Speaking to a leading media outlet, Tadvi said, “The snake showed no movement, but I believed it could be saved.” He immediately began administering CPR by holding the snake’s neck, opening its mouth, and blowing air into it for about three minutes. Despite no response during the first two attempts, the snake showed signs of life on the third try and began moving.

The rescue was captured on video, and the snake was handed over to forest officials for further care.

In a similar incident a Madhya Pradesh , a local constable attempted to resuscitate a snake using mouth-to-mouth CPR last year.

The snake was found unconscious after ingesting water contaminated with pesticide.
