Mexican politicians were in for an extraterrestrial surprise on Wednesday when journalist and ufologist Jaime Maussan showed up to a hearing with two strange boxes. Maussan unveiled what he claimed were two small alien corpses at the country's Congress in Mexico City.

Placed inside windowed boxes, the mummified specimen had been recovered from the Peruvian city of Cusco. According to The Independent, they are said to be a thousand years old. The event was attended by prominent scientists, conspiracy theorists, and navy veterans including Ryan Graves, Americans for Safe Aerospace Executive Director, who told the US Congress earlier this year about the existence of extraterrestrial life.

What happened during the hearing?

Taking an oath, Maussan revealed the details of his findings. He said that the UFO specimens were recently under study by the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM) where scientists were able to find DNA evidence through processes such as radiocarbon dating.

The urologist clarified that the aliens were not part of “our terrestrial evolution” and almost a third of their DNA remains “unknown”. "These specimens are not part of our terrestrial evolution... These aren't beings that were found after a UFO wreckage. They were found in diatom (algae) mines, and were later fossilised," he told attendees of the hearing.

He also displayed X-rays of the extraterrestrial corpses that showed one of them had 'eggs' inside. Both the alien bodies were said to have implants made of rare metals such as Osmium. Before uncovering the boxes, Maussan showed attendees multiple videos of “UFOs and unidentified anomalous phenomena".

While this might be the first time that Mexican lawmakers have dug deep into what exists beyond the world we know, Maussan has long been involved in such projects. However, several of his claims have been debunked, including five mummies that were discovered in Peru in 2017, only to be later declared as human children.
