19 Dies as Boat capsizes in Ethiopia's Tekeze River

Addis Ababa: At least, 19 people died in Ethiopia after a boat overturned in a river in the country's northwest region on Sunday.  

According to reports from the Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA), the tragedy occurred in the Amhara region on Saturday when people were crossing the Tekeze River by boat.

26 people were onboard when the boat capsized on the river. 

Seven people including a child have been rescued while only two bodies have been retrieved so far, according to EPA.
