Washington: The White House has named Amy Gleason as the acting administrator of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a role previously associated with billionaire Elon Musk. This announcement brings curiosity about Gleason's background and her qualifications for this high-profile position. 

Who is Amy Gleason? 
Amy Gleason is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in healthcare technology and public service. She previously worked with the U.S. Digital Service (USDS) from 2018 to 2021, where she played a crucial role in the federal Covid-19 response. Her experience in the public sector is complemented by her work in the private sector, where she served as the Chief Product Officer at Russell Street Ventures and Main Street Health, both healthcare startups based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Gleason, 53, worked from 2018 through 2021 in the United States Digital Service, an agency that has been renamed the US DOGE Service, according to her LinkedIn profile. In that role, she worked with the White House on the federal response to the coronavirus pandemic. 

Gleason is also a co-founder of CareSync, a telehealth company, and working as Vice President for Research at the Cure JM Foundation, an organisation dedicated to juvenile myositis research. Her advocacy for technological improvements in healthcare is well-documented, including a TED talk in 2020 where she highlighted the need for better data and technology to support patients and doctors.
