New Delhi: An explosion was reported just 20 kilometers away from the official residence of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and he is reportedly being moved out from there. The cause of the explosion remains unclear.
In a strong retaliatory strike, the Indian Armed Forces successfully shot down three advanced Pakistani fighter jets one American-made F-16 and two Chinese-origin JF-17s — that had attempted to breach Indian airspace. The jets were reportedly attempting a coordinated aerial incursion in the western sectors of the border.
According to defence sources, the interception took place after Indian air defence radars detected hostile movements and scrambled interceptor aircraft and ground-based systems to respond.
Two Pakistani fighter jet pilots have been captured alive by Indian forces. One pilot was taken into custody near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, after ejecting from a downed jet. The other was captured in Akhnoor, a strategic border town in Jammu district, Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday, Pakistan launched multiple drones and missiles aimed at Indian military installations in Jammu. However, India’s sophisticated air defence systems, including the S-400 and indigenous missile interceptors, successfully neutralised the incoming threats before they could cause damage.
