The Indian Embassies in Iran and Israel have issued advisories to all Indian citizens in the two nations to remain vigilant, avoid unnnecesary movements, and observe safety protocols in light of the current situation in the region.

Both embasies also provided emergency contact details for the Indian citizens on their official X handles.

The escalation begun in the early hours of Friday morning when Israel carried out air strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, part of “Operation Rising Lion”. Iran responded with “Operation True Promise”, a mix of drone and ballistic strikes in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, leaving two dead and wounding many more.

In one of the most severe attacks, multiple high-rise buildings in central Tel Aviv were directly hit by Iranian missiles. Air raid sirens were activated in several key cities, including Jerusalem and Haifa, forcing thousands of residents to take cover in underground shelters.

This attack by Iran is a direct response to Israel's strikes on Iranian soil just hours earlier. According to reports, the Israeli Air Force targeted more than 200 sites, including key nuclear and military facilities in Iran.

Amid these attacks, Iran, Israel, Jordan and Iraq have closed their airspace as precautionary moves.
