Drone Attack Rocks Oil Depot in Russia’s Rostov
"There are no casualties," Rostov governor Golubev said on the Telegram messaging app.
New Delhi: As Moscow-Ukraine conflict remains unresolved, a drone attacked was reported at Atlas oil depot in Rostov region of Russia.
According to sources, regional Governor Vasily Golubev on Wednesday confirmed the overnight strike.
"There are no casualties," Rostov governor Golubev said on the Telegram messaging app. He added that that firefighters were extinguishing the blaze at the depot in Rostov’s Kamensky district.
Reportedly, the oil depot is a Russian Rosrezerv plant that specializes in storing petroleum products and also supplies petroleum products to the Russian army.
Meanwhile, the Russian defence ministry said its air defence units destroyed four drones over the region overnight. However, the defence ministry didn't mention of an attack on the depot.
The smoke from the fire at the oil depot in Rostov region stretched for up to 30 km. As per local Telegram channels in Russia, the fire spread to other reservoirs.
Earlier this month, a fuel storage depot in the Kamensky district came under attacked. This latest drone attack came while tanks were still on fire at another oil depot in Rostov's Proletarsk district, about 10 days after a Ukrainian attack.
Ukrainian Drone Crashes into 38-Storey Structure in Russia
Previously on August 26, two people including a woman were seriously injured after a drone crashed into the 38-story residential complex "Volga Sky", the tallest building in Russia's Saratov.
According to the governor of the region southeast of Moscow, Roman Basurgin this incident was a result of Ukraine's drone attack.
A video of the incident was posted on Basurgin's Telegram account, which showed the high-rise residential building in Saratiov with a damaged side and flams could be seen blown out of windows across three floors.
The governor said emergency services had fanned out at affected sites in the city and Engels.
Russia Launches Massive Missile and Drone Attack Across Ukraine
At least three people were killed and several explosions were heard after the Russian forces launched a massive missile and drone attack in Kyiv, the Kyiv Independent reported.
As per the report, air raid sirens were sounded across the country early in the morning at around 6 am local time. Several explosions were heard in the city a little before 8:30 am with several more a little later.
It also added that as many as six Russian bomber aircraft were in the air.
The Ukraine's Air Force said Russian MiG-31s, which were used to launch Kinzhal ballistic missiles, were in the air. The Air Forces initially reported the activity of 11 Russian bomber aircraft as well as several kamikaze drones, heading towards cities across the country.
