Ceremony opens international military drills in Ukraine

An opening ceremony for international military drills was held in western Ukraine on Monday, as forces from fifteen countries gathered for joint military exercises. U.S. serviceman David Cornigen said the drill involved a brigade combat team of the Washington National Guard, which has been deployed in Ukraine since April.

In addition, about 150 more representatives from the U.S. Armed Forces will join the exercises.About 6,000 troops are expected to participate in the drills.
