Protesters from the environmental group Extinction Rebellion were detained by Brussels police on Saturday before they managed to haul a boat toward the Belgian parliament, in a stunt to protest climate change.

Police spotted the boat atop a trailer and detained the driver, prompting other activists to lie down on the ground in protest.

Police made several arrests, but the incident ended peacefully.

Extinction Rebellion said it was denouncing "inaction" on climate by the Belgian government amid a UN climate summit taking place in Glasgow.
