French President Emmanuel Macron met with British heir to the throne Prince Charles at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgoew on Monday.

The pair were hosting a meeting on concrete measures that need to be taken in order to put into place the so-called Great Green Wall initiative in Africa.

The ambitious plan seeks to take on the impact of climate change in the belt along the Sahel region with a vast agricultural and ecological program which will span the entire width of the continent.

Prince Charles told attendees the Great Green Wall initiative "offers a precious opportunity to restore land, forest and biodiversity while also addressing the social, economic, and environmental impact of land degradation and desertification."

Macron echoed the prince's words, stating the scheme was a chance to tackle climate change but also poverty and terrorism.
