Bosnia: Flights resume in Sarajevo as lockdown eases

The first commercial flights landed and departed from Sarajevo today, as Bosnia lifted its ban on passenger air travel imposed since March.

The first commercial flights landed and departed from Sarajevo today, as Bosnia lifted its ban on passenger air travel imposed since March.

At check-in, safety measures were implemented for travellers departing to Budapest.

The flight had only 31 passengers, including a Ukrainian professional footballer who had been stranded in Bosnia for three months.

Airliners from Serbia, Austria, Germany and other countries are expected to resume normal traffic to Sarajevo in the coming days and weeks.

Airports in Banja Luka, Mostar and Tuzla have also reopened, with flights coming in from various European countries.

Bosnia has recorded  2,555 infections and 152 deaths from the coronavirus. .
