Iraq's ministerial council for national security held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss and respond to Iranian and Turkish attacks on Iraqi territories.

The meeting was headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani and brought together council members and the chief of staff of the Kurdish peshmerga forces.

According to a statement released by the prime minister's media office: "The council discussed the Turkish and Iranian attacks and violations on the Iraqi borders, and the bombing that affected a number of areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, causing intimidation and harm to the people and their property."

At the meeting the council decided to "develop a plan to redeploy the Iraqi border forces to hold the strip line along the borders with Iran and Turkey, securing all the requirements of logistical support for the border forces command to enable them to accomplish their tasks."
