India commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday, marking the victory of Indian soldiers in recapturing the mountain heights that were occupied by the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War in 1999.
Interestingly, Pakistan journalist Naila Inayat took to her social media handle and exposed the so-called "patriotic Pakistani twitter warriors" saying that there was no word on the 20 years of Kargil War from them on Friday. She went onto add that it is "unsurprising" from a country which did not even its martyred soldiers of the Kargil War.
Responding to her admission, social media users pointed out that there were no comments on 20 years of Kargil War from chief spokesperson of Pakistan Armed Forces Major General Asif Ghafoor, who voices his thoughts on every possible issue. Taking a dig at Pakistan, netizens posted comments the lies told by the country on Kargil War.
As per reports, Pakistan never agreed that its soldiers had intruded in India crossing the Line of Control and occupy the posts on mountain heights in Kargil in 1999. However, Pakistan's lies were exposed after India launched the Operation Vijay, led by Lieutenant General (retired) Amar Aul in order to reoccupy the hills captured by the Pakistan intruders. It was difficult to determine the number of losses on Pakistan's side. While Pakistan confirmed that 453 soldiers were killed, the US Department of State had made a partial estimate of close to 700 fatalities. Hundreds of soldiers were killed from both sides.
