Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's personal physician said that his health has continued to be in critical condition. He further added that the delays to allow Sharif to travel abroad for treatment could result in an adverse impact on his life. A letter posted by Dr. Adnan Khan on Twitter has stated that the Board has agreed with the doctors of the Service Hospital for moving Sharif abroad for treatment but the Lahore High Court still hasn't removed the former premier's name from the Exit Control List (ECL).

On November 12, the Pakistan Cabinet decided to allow the ailing former PM to go to the UK for medical treatment but only if he sign surety bonds making a commitment that he would return after the treatment and face corruption cases against him. However, on Wednesday Sharif refused to meet Imran Khan's government's demand to submit indemnity bonds worth Rs. 700 crores for travel to the United Kingdom.

"We have categorically told the government that Sharif would not submit any indemnity bonds worth Rs 7 billion (Rs 700 crores) to the government for removing his name from the no-fly list enabling his departure for London for his treatment," a senior PML-N leader quoted Sharif as saying.

"Nawaz Sharif said that the government demand is illegal and can't be met in the presence of the court guarantees. The government cannot hold another court of its own on the earlier decision of the Islamabad High Court that granted Sharif eight weeks bail on medical grounds," the PML-N leader added.

'Government is using the opportunity for their dirty politics'

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan had arrested former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The accountability bureau had also arrested his daughter Maryam Nawaz and nephew Yousuf Abbas in the same case. Both of them have been accused of being involved in money laundering under the garb of sale/purchase of the sugar mills' shares. Nawaz Sharif was diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), an insusceptible issue that prompts a sudden and sharp drop in blood platelets a month back and since then his health has been reportedly deteriorating.

The senior PML-N leader said, “If something happens to Sharif, Imran Khan and company will be responsible as he is critical and the government is using the opportunity for their dirty politics".
