Pakistan has an entire eatery with 'Gangs of Wasseypur' theme

Pakistan has an eatery with a theme based on a Bollywood movie, released not too long ago. The eatery called the Burgers of Wasseypur located in Islamabad.

On August 16, Pakistan reacting to the integration of Kashmir with India by the revocation of Article 370, banned Bollywood film CDs. But the influence of not just Bollywood but the entire Indian film industry is becoming more common in most of South Asia. This is evident even in Pakistan has an eatery with a theme based on a Bollywood movie, released not too long ago. The eatery called the Burgers of Wasseypur located in the country's capital Islamabad is clearly based on Anurag Kashyap's hit 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. 

Fast food joint with 'Gangs of Wasseypur' theme

The fast-food joint is not just named after the hit Bollywood film, the inspiration from the movie goes much further for the Pakistan food joint as even the items on its menu are named after the memorable characters from the film. The burgers are named after several characters including the leading character of 'Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2'. Top of the menu is the burger called 'Faijal Khan' (Faisal Khan). 'Perpendicular', 'Definite' as well as one of the several dialogues which became popular - 'Tumse Na Ho Paye Ga'. The dialogue which means 'you won't be able to do it' is often said by one of the key antagonists Ramadhir Singh from 'Gangs of Wassepur Part 1' and 'Gangs of Wassepur Part 2' to his son JP.

Pakistan eatery's promotions, logo inspired by 'Gangs of Wasseypur'

The eatery also promotes its menu with lines from 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. To say that it can fulfil the craving of everyone, a line in the menu says 'Baap Ko, Dada Ko, Bhai ko, Sabko Milega, Burgers of Wasseypur', based on the famous dialogue mouthed by Faijai Khan who promises vendetta to his mother over the murders of his family by Ramadhir Singh - 'Baap Ka, Dada Ka, Bhai Ka, Sabka Badla Lega Re Tera Phaijal'. The menu has 'Faizal Khan's' graphic on it. The logo shows a rifle and what appears to be a dagger, showcasing the violence prominent in the film. Below is a tweet promoting its grilled burger.

As seen in the menu, the food place has social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat apart from Twitter.

Pakistan bans Bollywood CDs after Article 370 revocation

The Pakistan government launched a crackdown on the sale of CDs of Indian movies after New Delhi revoked the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, according to a media report on Friday. The crackdown was the latest in series of measures announced by a completely spooked Pakistan in reaction to revocation of the special status of Kashmir by India. It also came after Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) banned the airing of advertisements featuring Indian artists and India-made products.  "We have banned Indian advertisements and launched a crackdown on CD shops to confiscate Indian movies," a Pak-newspaper quoted Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information, as saying.
