Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on August 15, on 73rd Independence Day of India, held a black day to stand 'in solidarity' with Kashmiris as he had declared following the revocation of Article 370 in the state by the Centre.
The Black Day was observed online as well as the PM, the Army Spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor were among those who changed their display pictures on Twitter to black.
However, this did not sit well with Indian netizens and even a few Pakistani netizens on Twitter who began trolling PM Khan. The 'selected' Prime Minister of Pakistan received a backlash instead of support in his attempt to gain attention through a false narrative about Kashmir.
Embarrassingly for the Pakistan Prime Minister and the Official Spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, netizens gave them a reality check showing, even as trivial it is to hold a 'Black Day' against India on social media, their event barely got any traction. In fact, leading the Worldwide trends on Twitter were Indian Independence Day hashtags.
