Pakistan's Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has accused his Prime Minister Imran Khan of begging for financial support from multiple countries across the globe.

Shah, while addressing a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) rally in Matli on Sunday, had said: "Imran Khan is going from country to country to beg for financial aid" Samaa TV reported.

Continuing his tirade against Khan, Shah opined that those without any experience in politics were given a seat in the government. On January 5, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had finalised a bail-out package worth around USD 6.2 billion to assist Pakistan in tackling its balance-of-payments crisis.

Leading Pakistan English daily Dawn reported that the bail-out package will be announced by the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of UAE during his two-day visit to Pakistan starting January 6.

The package involves USD 3.2 billion worth of oil supplies on deferred payment, in addition to a cash deposit worth USD three billion. Quoting a source, Dawn stated that the bailout package, finalised on January 3, was almost of the same size as that granted by Saudi Arabia in October last year.

The source said that the bail-out package would further help Pakistan to save around USD 7.9 billion on oil and gas imports, accounting for more than 60 per cent of annual oil import bill of about USD 12 to 13 billion, from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan is also negotiating with the Government of Qatar in order to seek a reduction in the prices of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Pakistan, reeling under severe financial crisis, has been reaching out to some "friendly countries" including Saudi Arabia, China and the UAE for economic assistance, since Prime Minister Imran Khan assumed the office in August.
