Peruvian President Pedro Castillo completed 100 days in office on Wednesday.

In his public address from Ayacucho, Castillo announced that his government had begun to renegotiate the country's largest natural gas field.

The government of the former peasant teacher is experiencing a new political crisis due to the sudden change of army and air force chiefs.

The president also promised to put the presidential plane up for sale, collect the highest private debts owed to the treasury and increase the minimum wage by 17 dollars as of December.

Castillo indicated that these debts have accumulated for more than 20 years and that other governments have not collected them.

He said that the 100 largest debtors owe around 7.4 million dollars; several of them are companies with international capital, including mining companies, airlines, telephone companies, banks, and retail chains.
