113-year-old believed to be Spain's oldest survivor

A 113-year-old woman from Catalonia is believed to be the oldest person to have recovered from COVID-19 in Spain.

According to local media, Maria Branyas suffered only mild symptoms from the new coronavirus which has been deadlier to her age group.

Maria has been living in a nursing home for the past two decades, where 17 other seniors have died from the disease.

Deaths in Spain attributed to the new coronavirus is now 27,459, with just over 230,000 cases.
