A busy highway stretch in Germany was shut down on Monday after a truck carrying cocoa caught fire.

The incident happened on the A14 autobahn near the town of Grabow. The truck caught fire between Berlin and Hamburg. As per reports, the truck was carrying 17 tons of cocoa. Firefighters were immediately called in to douse the fires. Even though the driver of the truck escaped unharmed, the cocoa shipment was destroyed and charred in the flames. As a result of the unfortunate incident, the northbound lanes of the A14 were temporarily shut down. However, the images that later surfaced indicated that hot chocolate did not spill on the autobahn.

Cops have said that the truck's technical defect led to the unexpected fires, even though a proper cause of the flames is under investigation. Authorities have asserted that the fire has resulted in a massive loss as it caused hundreds of thousands of euros in damage. In addition, a noise-barrier wall next to the truck was also destroyed.

Meanwhile, this Netizen has expressed his concern over the incident and also a possible rise in the prices of mochas:

Earlier in June, a similar incident occurred in Indiana on a freeway where two semi-trailers collided and spilled cocoa powder and lithium batteries on the freeway. One of the trucks was driven by a 70-year-old driver Radmilo Samardzio of Ballwin, Missouri, while the other one was driven by  57-year-old Steven S. Dare of Hudsonville, Michigan. No one was injured in the accident.
