190-pound Mastiff on mountain hike rescued, netizens applaud

A mastiff, Floyd was rescued from Grandeur Peak trail near Salt Lake City, by the authorities nearby. The three-year-old canine went for a hike with his owner.

A brave mastiff was rescued from Grandeur Peak trail near Salt Lake City, by authorities. The three-year-old canine went for a hike with his owner and was soon rescued after he injured himself and was too tired to walk back all the way.

190-pound mastiff rescued

Floyd, the 190-pound rescued mastiff, was finally treated by the rescue team and carried back from the trails on Sunday, October 13. The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s search and rescue team reached to Floyd and his owner after they received calls from several hikers about the duo being stuck two miles up the trail and got reports of the injured dog.

in a detailed Facebook post, the official page of Salt Lake County Sheriff shared the story of the incident along with many pictures and videos of the mastiff being carried back on a stretcher from the trail by the rescue team. “Floyd was packaged in a litter and carried down the mountain. 

The sheriff said Floyd was cooperated with the team and was happy to be assisted. His owner and all the team members managed to leave the area around 10:30 PM”, read the post. He also informed on his Facebook post, the authoritites received a call for a 190-pound, 3-year-old male injured Mastiff about two miles up the Grandeur Peak Trail. Several hikers called Unified Police to report that the dog and his owner were on the trail and were not able to move. Salt Lake County Search and Rescue members went into action and headed up the trail to make sure Floyd could get off the mountain with his human before it got too cold. Floyd was packaged in a litter and carried down the mountain. The Sheriff's post which has gone viral all over the internet has been met with hundreds of positive comments and likes, and at the time of this publication, the post was shared over 3,000 times.
