After months in space, three astronauts return to Earth

NASA astronauts Andrew Morgan and Jessica Meir along with Oleg Skripochka of the Russian space agency Roscosmos undocked from the ISS in the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft at 20.53 Central Time (01.53 GMT).

Three astronauts who have been working on the International Space Station (ISS) began their return to Earth on Friday.

NASA astronauts Andrew Morgan and Jessica Meir along with Oleg Skripochka of the Russian space agency Roscosmos undocked from the ISS in the Soyuz MS-15 spacecraft at 20.53 Central Time (01.53 GMT).

Morgan's 272-day mission began on July 20, 2019, whilst Meir and Skripochka left Earth on September 25 last year.

According to NASA the trio are expected to touch down on the steppe of Kazakhstan just before 11:30 a.m local Kazakh time (06.30 GMT).
