Usually a carnival for locals and tourists, the Uluru Camel Cup was run without crowds this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Saturday's race saw Tex outlasting two-time winner Golden Nugget at the annual event in central Australia.

German woman, Lara Billar, who arrived in central Australia for a 3-month holiday three years' ago, rode the winning camel.

Along with the race, there was also a keenly fought camel poo-throwing contest. The event was broadcast online, and raised money for local charities.
