Aung San Suu Kyi welcomes China FM in Myanmar

The visit is a part of the Chinese Foreign Minister's tour of Southeast Asia countries taking place this week. His tour also includes Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines, in an effort to promote China's relations in the region.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Monday in the country's capital Naypyitaw, during a two-day official visit.Wang is the first foreign minister to visit Myanmar since last November's election which saw Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party return to power for a second five-year term.

The visit is a part of the Chinese Foreign Minister's tour of Southeast Asia countries taking place this week. His tour also includes Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines, in an effort to promote China's relations in the region.
