The unpleasant incident

An investigation was started when the police believed that someone used their car to purposely run in the innocent animals. The officer in charge, Inspector Peter Volf reportedly said that such incidents are taken very seriously and anyone who engages in similar activities will be facing the full brunt of the law. The animals were allegedly targeted in the middle of a residential part of the town. The residents on streets were stunned as they woke up to find dead bodies strewn all over their lawns. One of the local residents also reportedly claimed that he was sickened by the killings and it was a very unpleasant sight to wake up to. The 19-year-old has been reportedly granted conditional bail to appear before Baga Local Court on November 26.

The killing of Feral cats

The Australian government is also reportedly airdropping poisonous sausages across thousands of hectares of land in an effort to kill millions of feral cats. It is one of the tactics used by the government as part of its plan to kill two million feral cats by 2020 in order to protect native species. Cats are reportedly also trapped and shot by government officials. The cats apparently die within 15 minutes after eating the sausages made with kangaroo meat, chicken fat, herbs, spices, and the poison. According to one of the officials, feral cats are the single biggest threat to Australia's native species and to save animals that define Australia as a nation like a bilby, the warru (black-footed rock-wallaby) and the night parrot, the killing of the feral cats is supposedly not seen as a crime.
