Bolsonaro expects results from third virus test

The president announced on July 7 that he tested positive for for COVID-19, and on July 15 he said he had tested positive one more time.Since then he insisted that he has been taking the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, which most studies have found to be ineffective and potentially dangerous for some patients.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said Tuesday that he had a third test to see if he was still positive for the new coronavirus and was expecting the result on Wednesday.According to the president, if his latest test proves negative, he will travel Friday to Piaui state in northeastern Brazil.

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday reported a daily increase of 41,008 new cases and 1,367 deaths by COVID-19.Brazil has now recorded more than 2 million 159 thousand confirmed cases and  81,487 victims.Experts said that there is a significant undercount due to lack of testing.
