China launched its first-ever amphibious assault ship on September 25 in Shanghai which would enable the Chinese navy to carry out attacks from the sea on the enemy territories. Along with that, the strong capacity amphibious ship will be useful in performing other variable tasks. Furthermore, the ship is reportedly entirely developed by the country. The ship will now undergo the planned processes of equipment debugging, mooring and navigational trials. This new addition to the Chinese navy will also have great capabilities of carrying amphibious combats.

Development of the Chinese Navy

In China's military doctrine, it has enhanced the development of its navy since 2013. The country has now also included many aircraft carriers except submarines, frigates and assault ships in order to expand and strengthen its global influence. Evidently the hardware used in the new ship is the first in the Type 075 class of amphibious assault ship.

The observers familiar with the People's Liberation Army Navy's hardware also said that this ship is manufactured as a type of landing helicopter dock. It was the first time in the history that the Chinese Navy made logistics bases in Djibouti in the Indian Ocean. It is also developing one in the Arabian Sea at the Gwadar port in Pakistan. Moreover, China has also acquired Hambantota port in Sri Lanka.

The aircraft carriers

The Chinese Navy has one aircraft carrier named the Liaoning and it was commissioned in 2012. It is also the second aircraft carrier built entirely by China. Liaoning is currently under trials. Moreover, the third one has its construction in full pace. Purportedly, the country also plans to acquire five to six aircraft carriers in the upcoming years. China now even has destroyers of 20 Type 052Ds. They are either in active service or being sent for a service soon. Reportedly, the destroyers are fast in speed and can be manoeuvred on long-distance warships. These will also accompany the aircraft carriers.
