Chinese shop owners forced to eat live fish after failing to meet targets

In a bizarre incident that occurred in China's Guizhou province, shop keepers ate live fish.

In a bizarre incident that occurred in China's Guizhou province, shop keepers ate live fish. 

The shop owners were forced to eat live fish after they failed to meet their targets, say reports. The video shows the shop owners being given fishes like pond loach.

However, as per local reports, many of them who tried eating the fishes alive ended up vomiting on the streets. Details in the video claim that the incident was a punishment. Even so, the shop owners stepped forward and participated in it voluntarily. People were disgusted after watching the video and slammed the responsible authorities. Read some of the comments here:

"It's not healthy, they could get parasites from those raw fishes"

"For most healthy people who choose to eat raw or undercooked seafood, it may only pose a small health risk but for others the risk can be severe. ... Major types of food poisoning that can result from eating raw or undercooked fish and shellfish include Salmonella and Vibrio vulnificus." 

"There a lot of other challenges but their choose this 😑😑😑😑What are in their mind"

"Loach is punished for a sales target?"

"That's disgusting"

Many people also called out the incident as animal abuse:

"Guys. Eating fish alive does not solve any problem when your store does not reach sales targets. That means just two words: ANIMAL ABUSE. I mean, why won't you close down your store, or maybe try selling again next time?"

"Woah, those poor loaches"

"That's cruel the fish."

"Killing a life should not be used as a sport or entertainment"

However, this is not the first time something like this has happened. Earlier, a Chinese company made their underperforming employees crawl on the road. The case received severe backlash over the incident and the company reportedly closed for a while.
