Coronavirus takes 117 more lives across Iran

Iran reported 117 more deaths from the coronavirus, bringing the nationwide toll up to 4,110, its health ministry said on Thursday.

Iran reported 117 more deaths from the coronavirus, bringing the nationwide toll up to 4,110, its health ministry said on Thursday.

Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour more than 1,600 cases were discovered within the past 24 hours, raising the number of cases to 66,220.

Iran is battling the most severe coronavirus outbreak in the Middle East.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
