Cuban and Russian officials began talks Wednesday in Havana aimed at strengthening bilateral collaboration in various fields.

Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Cuba's Vice-Prime Minister and his Russian counterpart, Yury Borisov, led their respective delegations in exploring issues of interest to both countries.

Delegates discussed issues related to financial, energy, transport, agriculture, communications and health sectors.

This session of the Intergovernmental Commission was expected last until Thursday.

Borisov arrived in Cuba from Venezuela after a meeting of the High Level Intergovernmental Commission in Caracas, Tuesday.
